The Part of Bluejack Ranch Kelly Ranch Will Meet First Is on US 377

"I never knew there were rolling hills here in Fort Worth," Tiger Woods says in a promotional video for Bluejack Ranch, as the Fort Worth Report reported in late September. If you live in Kelly Ranch, you already know those hills. You cross them on Bear Creek Road.

Bluejack Ranch covers 914 acres at US Highway 377 and Kelly Road. Kelly Road is also the first turn on the usual route into Kelly Ranch. Builder directions for Sierra Vista at Kelly Ranch say to come south on US 377, turn right on Kelly Road, then left on Bear Creek Road and left on Fallbrook Drive. Two very different communities share that corner. The golf course gets the headlines, but most Kelly Ranch neighbors will never play it. What they will notice is the corner itself and the strip of land facing the highway.

Most of Bluejack Ranch Is Private

The Fort Worth Report describes Bluejack Ranch as a gated, membership-based community. Andy Mitchell is the managing partner at Lantern Capital Management, the developer. Kristin Mitchell is a co-founder and co-developer, and Woods and former PGA Tour player J.J. Henry are partners. Mitchell and Woods worked together before on Bluejack National, a private golf community in Montgomery, Texas, north of Houston.

This is what is being built inside the gate, according to that September 27 report:

Element What has been reported
Golf course 18 holes, about 7,700 yards, laid out by Woods' firm, TGR Design
First phase of homes About 125 luxury homes plus golf cottages, average price above $3 million
First homebuilder Horseshoe Homes, with homes around 4,000 square feet; more builders to follow
Ranch amenities Horse stables, an equestrian arena, a 20-acre dude ranch
Other amenities Spa and wellness area, family entertainment hub, golf performance center
Media space Lantern Entertainment Studio, set up for film, television and podcasts
Membership Fees not announced; estimated at $150,000 to $250,000, plus annual dues

Bear Creek runs through the property, and the course was designed to leave most of the natural terrain alone. Mitchell told the Report that the interior roads will be blacktop instead of concrete, and that TCU's Ranch Management program is helping preserve the trees and grasses. All of that sits behind the gate, so a Kelly Ranch neighbor sees almost none of it from Kelly Road.

This Corner Has Seen a Golf Plan Before

Some longtime residents will remember a different plan for this land. In December 2023, the Fort Worth Report covered plans for a $100 million Kelly Ranch Golf Club at US 377 and Kelly Road. The Fort Worth golf operator Escalante Golf was behind it, and the original master plan was a 2,400-acre development with 1.5 miles of frontage on US 377. The Report's 2026 story says Escalante never finalized an agreement for the property. Mitchell's group later bought the land from developer Ryan Voorhees.

That history explains why the Bluejack plan feels more settled. The paperwork has gone further than the earlier plan's did. According to the Aledo Ledger, Parker County approved a 95.888-acre Phase 1 plat on August 25, 2025, with 33 residential lots and 12 reserve lots. The developer is listed as Aledo Ranch with Cresson Crossroads MUD #2. Mitchell told the Fort Worth Report that the slowest part was getting utilities in, including sewer and water. A municipal utility district and a commercial well serve the property.

Utilities and plats take time. Road changes come next, and those happen on the stretch of highway Kelly Ranch residents drive every day.

The Highway Work Kelly Ranch Will Drive Through

In July 2026, an invitation for bidders ran in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram legal notices for a project titled "Bluejack Ranch Phase 2 Turn Lane & Signal Improvements Along US 377." The notice shows how the work is being handled:

  • Owner: Aledo Ranch Development Co. LLC, on behalf of Cresson Crossroads MUD #2
  • Engineer's office: Kimley-Horn in Weatherford, where bids were received
  • Scope of the contract: paving and grading
  • Bid deadline: 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, after a pre-bid meeting on August 5

A construction project listing updated September 23, 2026 marks the US 377 work as "Post-Bid" and describes it as turn-lane and signal installation. No contractor award or start date has been announced, so this is planned work with no construction schedule yet. Even so, it is the first piece of Bluejack Ranch that will change a Kelly Ranch resident's daily routine. A new signal and turn lane on the highway frontage affect anyone heading north toward Benbrook and Fort Worth in the morning, gate code or not.

The Public Part Is Still Being Defined

The roadwork matters for another reason. Its job is to bring traffic into the edge of Bluejack facing US 377, which is the only part of the project ever described as open to the public.

In January 2025, Henry told The Community News about a 65-acre Bluejack Town with an authentic western-town feel, "right down to its general store." "You might compare it to Mule Alley," he said, meaning the Stockyards stretch of restaurants, entertainment venues, shops and heritage brands. He also said that while the golf course and the Bluejack community are private, Bluejack Town would be open to the public.

The Fort Worth Report's September 2026 story describes the frontage differently. It mentions a 100-acre commercial and retail district facing Highway 377, "with a variety of service-oriented businesses." Neither account names a tenant or gives an opening timeline. Neither says whether the 65-acre town and the 100-acre district are the same plan, one inside the other, or a revision. The 2025 description of a public western town is the earlier plan. The 2026 description is more recent and less specific.

For Kelly Ranch, the difference is real. A Mule Alley-style town would bring restaurants and shops within a short drive of Fallbrook Drive. A service-oriented retail district could mean something more everyday. Both are possible, and neither has been announced.

Where Each Timeline Stands as of Late October 2026

The golf course. Bluejack's June 3, 2026 announcement set the opening for autumn 2026. A July 7 update on the Bluejack news page said homes and amenities were under construction and the course was down to its punch list. By the Fort Worth Report's September 27 story, the course was ready to be watered in, but North Texas had seen little rain. Officials said the opening may be delayed a bit, while ranch amenities were coming online. No revised date has been posted since.

The US 377 turn lane and signal. Bids were due August 12, and the project was listed as post-bid in late September. No construction window has been published.

The commercial frontage. It has been described as both a 65-acre public town and a 100-acre service-oriented district. It has no named tenants and no schedule.

Kelly Ranch's own amenities. Lennar's community page still lists the clubhouse, four swimming pools, pickleball and tennis courts, a racquet-sports patio and a fitness center as planned amenities, with no opening date. For now, the amenity schedules on both sides of Kelly Road remain open-ended.

Keeping Up With the Corner

Nothing at Bluejack Ranch is open to non-members yet. Two places will likely carry the first word on the course opening and on anything public along US 377: the Bluejack Ranch news page and the Fort Worth Report, which has covered both golf plans for this land. Highway changes will show up first as cones and signal poles at the frontage, on the same stretch of US 377 that leads to Kelly Road and Bear Creek Road.

As Kelly Ranch Liaison, I follow what is happening around Kelly Road and US 377. If you'd like to talk through what Bluejack Ranch's progress could mean for your plans in Kelly Ranch, I'm glad to sit down with you. Tamara Thompson is happy to help. Let's Connect.
