Piattello’s Clearfork Move in Fort Worth: What Changes for Regulars

Piattello Italian Kitchen has spent nearly ten years as a dinner spot at Waterside. In November it plans to reopen about a mile away, on the ground floor of a new building at The Shops at Clearfork. It will serve lunch and dinner seven days a week, and it will be the first restaurant at Clearfork owned and operated in Fort Worth. For regulars, the biggest change is a whole new mealtime.

Chef Marcus Paslay opened Piattello in 2017. It built its following on house-made pastas, pizzas, breads and a seasonal Italian menu. It belongs to his From Scratch Hospitality group, which started with Clay Pigeon Food & Drink in 2008. The group has since added Provender Hall in the Stockyards and Walloon's Restaurant on the Near Southside.

A Dinner Place Becomes an All-Day Place

Right now, Piattello's location page lists the Waterside restaurant at 5924 Convair Drive with dinner-only hours. Its Resy listing still points to 5924 Convair Dr., Suite 412. Here is how the two locations compare, based on the June announcement.

Waterside today Clearfork, opening target November 2026
Address 5924 Convair Drive, Suite 412 5137 Marathon Avenue, per the announcement
Service Dinner only Lunch and dinner, seven days a week
Seating Not published About 160 seats inside, plus a 40-seat patio
Size Not published 5,620 square feet
Menu Seasonal Italian, house-made pasta "Largely unchanged," with a few additions

If you've been ordering the same pasta for years, the menu is the reassuring part. "All of the favorites are staying," Paslay said in the release published by the Fort Worth Business Press. The release said new additions and updates would roll out closer to the fall opening.

The patio is new too. The release pictures it for meals outdoors and cocktail hour after a day of shopping at Clearfork.

Why Lunch Makes Sense on Marathon Avenue

The building explains the lunch shift. Piattello will be the restaurant anchor on the ground floor of The Offices at Clearfork, a new three-story building where offices fill the upper floors. TCU 360 reported on October 2 that the building opened in September and that Raymond James already has offices on the second floor. Wells Fargo is the building's anchor office tenant, moving from downtown Fort Worth. The two outlets give different timelines for it. The Fort Worth Report said in June that the bank's local headquarters opened there in May. In October, Clearfork marketing director Chandler Wallace told TCU 360 that a Wells Fargo branch was still under construction and expected to open in November, with about 150 employees on the second and third floors.

Either way, a restaurant serving lunch will soon have a large office tenant upstairs. The release draws the link itself, saying Clearfork's mix of living, working and shopping is what will let Piattello add lunch. The release also describes the development as tied to the Trinity Trail system by walking and biking paths. A weekday lunch after a morning on the trail is a new option on this side of town.

Paslay has said that staying nearby was the point. According to the Fort Worth Report, he said:

"We're only moving about a mile down the road, which means we still get to serve the neighborhood and community that built Piattello from the beginning, while bringing a Fort Worth-owned concept into one of the city's most visited and luxurious developments."

A Local Name Among National Brands

The second half of that quote is the bigger story for Clearfork. The Fort Worth Report noted that Clearfork's restaurants have mostly been national and regional brands. The June release calls Piattello the first and only Fort Worth-owned and operated restaurant at The Shops at Clearfork.

That's notable given where Clearfork sits. The development covers 270 acres of the old Edwards Ranch on the banks of the Clear Fork of the Trinity River, between Hulen Street and Bryant Irvin Road. Fort Worth-based Cassco Development Co. built it with Simon Property Group. A restaurant that grew up a mile away at Waterside is now joining that lineup. Patrick Peterman, Simon's senior vice president for mixed-use, said in the release that Piattello's "fresh, ever-evolving menu" fits the center's dining and shopping.

There's more to come on this corner. Wallace told TCU 360 that "there will be an additional restaurant on the other corner of the building, but we have not yet been able to announce them." She also said Mizzen + Main and Rye 51 are moving out of their two storefronts on Monahans Avenue, and the new stores in those spaces are expected to open in 2027.

What Is Settled and What Is Still Open

With November close, the details fall into two groups.

Announced:

  • A November 2026 opening target at Clearfork
  • Lunch and dinner seven days a week
  • About 160 indoor seats and a 40-seat patio
  • A 10th anniversary celebration, with the release saying the festivities will run into the new year as Piattello turns ten in January 2027

Not yet announced:

  • An exact opening day. As of October 2, the Clearfork space was still under construction.
  • A last night at Waterside. The Star-Telegram reported that no final date had been set. A Piattello spokesperson told the paper, "The hope is that there will only be about a couple of days lag time between closure and the new opening."
  • What will fill the Waterside space. The Waterside directory still lists Piattello.
  • The specific new menu items

The address is worth checking before you go. The June release gives 5137 Marathon Avenue. TCU 360's October report puts the building at 5141 Marathon Avenue, at Gage and Marathon. Either way, it's the new three-story building on Marathon Avenue, and Piattello is on the ground floor.

Planning Your Next Visit

The changeover is expected to happen within a few days. So for a November birthday or a holiday dinner with out-of-town family, check the restaurant's own location and hours page or the Resy listing before you choose a parking lot. Both still showed Waterside details at last check, and they should switch to the Clearfork address once it opens.

After the move, a weekday lunch near the Trinity Trail, a Saturday shopping trip at Clearfork or a Sunday afternoon on the patio will all fit the hours. At Waterside, Piattello's listed hours have been dinner only.
